February 2 is a day dedicated to all consecrated people, a moment of prayer and reflection worldwide, and it was no different in the diocese of Ihosy. This year, the day was celebrated over three days, from January 31 to February 2, 2025, with a special gathering on Friday, January 31, at the Saint Vincent de Paul Parish in Besavoa, Ihosy. This meeting brought together delegates from the diocesan committee and members of the consecrated life, an important moment to strengthen the spiritual and missionary bonds within the local Catholic community.

The gathering began with an opening prayer, followed by a time of sharing, led by Bishop Fulgence Razakarivony, Bishop of the Diocese of Ihosy. The meeting was also an opportunity to celebrate and highlight the importance of this year dedicated to consecrated life, with the reading of a letter from Bishop José Rodriguez Carballo, written on January 18, 2021, to encourage and support the consecrated in their vocation.

Another significant moment was the reading of Pope Francis' message from February 2, 2019. In this message, the Pope emphasized that consecrated life is a living encounter with the Lord and his people:

> "Consecrated life is a call to faithful obedience every day, through wonders that only the Spirit can perform. What is possible to achieve for true joy is Jesus."

The gathering was also enriched by a teaching on the Sacraments and Catechesis, essential for the spiritual growth of the members of the consecrated life in the diocese. A conference was led by Father Anja Roger, the senior priest of the diocese, on the Christian formation of the consecrated. It was also an occasion to revisit the book “Izaho Mino” by Father Jean Guy Rakotondravahatra, published in 1990, which is used for catechesis in the diocese of Ihosy.
