The beginning of April was marked by a series of important events for the Diocese of Ihosy, highlighting both the spiritual and social commitment of its members.
Reforestation and Ecological Engagement:
On April 1st, under the leadership of His Excellency Bishop Fulgence RAZAKARIVONY, all the priests of the diocese gathered in the Fokotany of Anarafanja to participate in a reforestation initiative. A total of 400 seedlings were planted, contributing to environmental preservation and laying the groundwork for the future third parish in the diocesan capital.
FFVA Council Meeting and Spiritual Formation:
On April 2nd, the 137 members of the FFVA council met at the Sainte Mère de Dieu Cathedral in Tanambao for an opening mass, followed by a formation session led by Reverend Father Jean de la Croix RANDRIANATOANDRO, Doctor of Theology. It was a time for teaching and sharing on theological and pastoral matters.
General Assembly of the ONG Tsimoka :
April 3rd was dedicated to the General Assembly of the NGO Tsimoka, where all diocesan stakeholders gathered to validate the Annual Work Plan (A.W.P.), review statutes, and discuss ongoing projects. This meeting was essential to advancing development initiatives within the diocese.
Jubilee of the Sick and Health Sector Celebration:
On April 5th and 6th, the Diocesan Health Commission (C.D.S) organized a series of activities to celebrate the Jubilee of the Sick and the Health Sector. Doctors, nurses, caregivers, volunteers, and pastoral workers came together for a celebration marked by solidarity and healing. The mass, presided over by the bishop, was a powerful moment of this celebration.
A Meaningful Theme:
All these events were guided by the theme “Pilgrim of Hope, Co-responsible,” reminding everyone of the importance of both collective and individual commitment in building a more just and united society.
